Tour Summary

This pre-Hispanic route is one of many that linked the different ecological levels, the high areas, with the warm ones, traveled, since time immemorial, by people who exchanged tropical products with products from the Altiplano (highlands)The route is relatively easier than others with almost 28km. that you must walk in three days very relaxed.

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that it is possible to do this route in two days, the first day will be a walk of almost 18km. Recommended for people in good physical condition.

Did you know that it is possible to do this route by mountain bike, it will only take one day to achieve this feat (recommended for people with experience in MTB)

Day 1

We will leave La Paz, after two and a half hours, we will arrive at the town of Choquecota 3900m. There we will start the walk, passing by the San Francisco mine and an impressive landscape of the Mururata, Then we will begin to ascend until we reach the Apacheta at 4,800 m., The climate in this region begins to get colder. After a rest in Apacheta, we will begin to descend for few minutes, then we will make a stop near a beautiful lagoon for lunch, we will continue the walk until we reach the Takesi ranch (3,800 m). where we will find the shelter to spend the night.

Day 2

After a good breakfast, we will continue our walk to the Kakapi community, during the walk we will be able to appreciate the exuberant vegetation of the Yungas, we will find our refuge to spend part of the afternoon and night enjoying the pleasant climate.

Day 3

 After having a hearty breakfast we will leave for the Chojlla mine (2,280m). We will walk the last 7 km until we reach the end of the route where our transport will be ready to take us back to the city of La Paz.
