7 days in the Cordillera Real, Chachacomani and Chearoco, the least visited peaks, where mountaineering experiences its true magic

Experience 7 days of raw, authentic mountaineering on Chachacomani and Chearoco—two of the range's least-visited peaks. Hidden deep in the heart of the Andes, these remote giants offer a true escape from the beaten path and will test your endurance as you take your climbing to the next level.
Departing early from La Paz, we drive past Copacabana to the small community of Alto Cruz Pampa (4,280m). Here, we load our gear onto pack animals before beginning the trek to Chachacomani Base Camp (4,650m).
Today, we trek up to Chachacomani High Camp (5,200m), situated right at the base of the glacier. Because the terrain is too rugged for pack animals, local porters will assist with carrying our equipment.
An alpine start takes us across the glacier plateau, navigating around Pico Centinela (5,400m) to reach the summit of Chachacomani (6,070m). Afterward, we descend to High Camp, pack our gear, and continue down to Base Camp for the night.
Today we trek to Chearoco Base Camp (4,600m), with our equipment once again supported by local porters.
Following breakfast, we navigate a 4-to-5-hour trek across mixed rock and moraine to reach Chearoco High Camp (5,200m). We enjoy an early dinner and rest up for tomorrow's summit push.
We make an early start, ascending the glacier (featuring 45°–50° slopes) to reach the summit of Chearoco (6,127m). We then descend back to High Camp to spend the night.
After a brief rest at Base Camp, we hike out to our vehicle and enjoy a comfortable drive back to La Paz.
